Job summary

Purolator Inc. in Edmonton South is seeking a part-time PM Sorter to support our warehouse operations. The role schedule is 16:00-19:00, Monday to Friday, with 15 hours per week under a permanent contract at the Edmonton South Depot.

The PM Sorter will sort and separate freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules, and will unload or load freight from trucks and conveyors, plus preloading mail and scanning items for proper sorting.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Technological literacy essential.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
• CSA approved safety footwear required.
• Successful criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks.
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out.
• Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer.
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles.
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items.
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify mis-sorted items.

Location: Edmonton South Depot - 3104 97 Street

Working Hours: 15 weekly hours

Scheduled Shift: part-time 16:00-19:00 Monday to Friday

Employment Contract: Permanent

Pay rate: $23.40/hour

The PM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
• Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery.
