Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a motivated Small Engine Technician to service and repair a range of small construction equipment in Stayner, Ontario. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and part replacements, documenting results and ensuring safety standards are met.

The role requires hands-on capability with tools, familiarity with engine types (2- and 4-stroke), and the ability to work independently or in a team. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related mechanical experience.
• Trade certificate or equivalent work experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean, lubricate and maintain various equipment and tools.
• Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
• Repair or replace worn parts.
• Assemble and reinstall components and engines after repairs.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Document all service and repair information.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technologyAvailable and willing to work overtime as neededPhysical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
