Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Technician to inspect, service and repair a diverse fleet of construction equipment at our Airdrie location. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure accurate paperwork for inspections and maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds a Red Seal or is a 3rd-year apprentice with experience in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics and electrical systems, plus a valid Class 5/G license and own tools.

Qualifications

• Red Seal/Journeyperson license required (421A or 310T) or minimum 3rd year apprentice.
• Experience on construction equipment; diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Valid Class 5/G driver's license with clean abstract (≤3 demerit points) and provide abstract when requested.
• Must have own tools and be willing to work overtime.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational skills and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment in shop and on sites.
• Diagnose malfunctions and test repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.
• Contribute to a safe, organized shop and yard and follow company policies.
• Collaborate with team and work independently or with customers as needed.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.* Must have own tools.* Available and willing to work over-time as needed.* Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.* Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.* Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.* Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a strong focus on following procedures and promoting a safe work environment.* Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology* Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
