Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to service and repair generators and climate control equipment in a fast-paced environment. Training and safety gear are provided, with opportunities for overtime and advancement.

The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, a valid Class 5 license, and experience with generators or construction heaters. Join a safety-minded team committed to service excellence in a year-round operation.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with generator and/or construction heater experience preferred.
• Class 5 license with a clean driving record (no more than 3 demerit points) is required.
• Class 3 license is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair generators (15kW to 130kW) and climate control equipment.
• Inspect motors and diagnose faults using diagnostic and testing devices.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts of generator systems and electrical/electronic systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups.
• Review work orders with supervisor and advise customers on repairs.
