Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice to join our team in Airdrie, AB. You will inspect and diagnose generator systems, perform repairs and maintenance, and advise customers on repair needs. Overtime availability and a strong safety mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Registered Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice.
• Class 5 license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points) is required. Class 3 license is considered an asset.
• Experience with generator service and repair is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and discuss work with your supervisor.
• Inspect motor in operation and test automotive systems and components to diagnose faults.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts of generator systems including fuel system, engine, drive train, emission control and exhaust, electrical and electronic systems.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups.
• Advise customers on work performed, general generator condition and future repair requirements.
