Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in Timmins, ON is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to inspect, service and repair a diverse fleet of construction equipment, including earth-moving and aerial machines. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and test repairs to ensure reliability and safety on site.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ mechanical experience, a valid G license with a clean abstract, and an ability to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
• Valid Class G license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• Must have a complete set of tools (or working on building a complete toolset).
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving, compaction, aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts and forklifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
• Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
