Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a qualified Equipment Technician to inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment at our Brampton, ON location. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and test equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical experience with diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, plus a valid G license and own tools.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience working on construction equipment.
• Valid Class G driver’s license with clean/satisfactory abstract.
• Must have own tools.
• Willing to work overtime as required.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with good communication; can work independently or with a team.
• Comfortable using computers for inspections, inventory management, etc.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift ~50 lbs; strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving, compact and aerial equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Mentor apprentices and new hires as needed, providing guidance, training and support.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.
• Contribute to a professional and safe work environment by keeping the shop and yard clean, and following all company policies and procedures, and safety requirements.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Mechanical experience working on a variety of construction equipment.
• Valid Class G driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver's abstract upon request.
• Must have own tools.
• Available and willing to work over-time as required.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
• Comfortable with computers (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.).
• Physical stamina and ability to stand and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Pay Range: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour Location: 15 West Drive Brampton, ON L6T 3T5
