Job summary

North Echo Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Muskoka team. The role involves working with site staff under the Lead Carpenter, Site Supervisor, and Project Manager to construct and renovate wooden structures.

Pay ranges from CAD 30.00 to CAD 38.00 per hour. The position offers full-time year-round employment with a focus on quality craftsmanship and safe operations. Mondays through Fridays with 8–10 hour shifts, on-site work across Muskoka.

Qualifications

  • Carpentry: 2 years of experience or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation to Muskoka sites.
  • Access to basic hand tools.
  • Capable of lifting at least 80 pounds and working outdoors in all weather.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow directions and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub-flooring, and install walls/roofs.
  • Fit and install trim, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Measure, cut, and join wood or wood substitutes.
  • Repair and renovate wooden structures.
  • Read blueprints and sketches.
  • Perform interior finishing tasks.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and safety.
  • Handle materials and equipment.
  • Follow directions from Lead Carpenter and Site Supervisor.
  • Set up and remove temporary structures (e.g., scaffolding).
  • Operate power tools.

Job Description:

The skilled carpenter will work cooperatively with other site staff and sub-trades under the direction of the Lead Carpenter, Site Supervisor and Project Manager.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring and installing walls and roofing systems
  • Fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Measuring, cutting and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes
  • Repairing and renovating wooden structures
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and sketches
  • Inside finishing
  • Daily general site clean up
  • Material Handling
  • Take direction from the lead carpenter and site supervisor
  • Set-up and tear down of temporary structures (ex. Scaffolding)
  • Use of power tools

Key Attributes of a Skilled Carpenter:

  • Valid Ontario driver's license, as well as transportation to various work sites in Muskoka
  • You are capable of climbing ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds
  • You have access to your own basic set of hand tools
  • You have a keen eye for detail
  • You are punctual and reliable
  • You are willing to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
  • You are able and willing to work in all weather

Schedule:

  • 8-10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Carpentry : 2 years (required)
