Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Carpenter to join our team specializing in cottage renovations, dock construction, repairs, and general carpentry work. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on lakeside properties, handling a variety of renovation projects, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship. Pay rate will be determined by candidates skills and qualifications.

Build, repair, and renovate cottage structures, including decks, porches, stairs, railings, walls, ceilings, and interior finishes.

• Construct, repair, and maintain wooden docks, walkways, platforms, and waterfront structures.
• Complete framing, flooring, siding, trim, doors, windows, and other carpentry work.
• Read and work from plans, drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
• Identify damaged or deteriorated wood and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement.
• Use hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment safely.
• Follow all applicable safety requirements and construction standards.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Required Skills

• Previous experience in carpentry, cottage renovation, deck construction, or dock building.
• Strong understanding of framing, measuring, cutting, fastening, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings and accurately interpret measurements.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physically capable of lifting materials, climbing stairs/ladders, and working around waterfront properties.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
