Construction Carpenter

About the Position
FHR Construction Ltd. is looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing construction team. We complete a variety of residential and commercial construction and renovation projects and are seeking a dependable individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, works well with others, and is committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine measurements, material requirements, and the sequence of work for each project.
- Build and install wood structures for new construction and renovation projects.
- Assemble wall systems, floor systems, roof structures, and other framing components.
- Install finishing materials such as trim, mouldings, doors, windows, hardware, shelving, and cabinetry as required.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble building materials to ensure accurate installation and a high-quality finished product.
- Repair or replace damaged structural and finishing components during renovation and restoration work.
- Work closely with supervisors and other trades to coordinate daily tasks and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment required to complete assigned work.
- Verify measurements and inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site while complying with all company safety policies and applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with general construction activities and support other team members as needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Carpenter in residential and/or commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience using a wide range of carpentry hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting construction materials and performing demanding manual work.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to workplace safety.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed at various residential and commercial construction sites.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working at heights may be required.
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
