Job summary

The Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will handle framing, foundations, floors, doors/windows, finishing and renovations with a focus on quality workmanship.

You will work safely with hand and power tools, read blueprints, and collaborate with the crew to complete projects on time. Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset as is a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Previous carpentry experience (framing, foundations, floors, doors/windows, finishing).
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in diverse environments.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
• Leadership and teamwork skills are an asset; supervisory experience is a plus.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry, including framing, foundations, floors, doors/windows, finishing and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform carpentry work such as framing, foundations, floors, doors/windows, finishing and renovations.


• Work efficiently as part of a team to complete projects on time and to a high standard.


• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.


• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.


• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.


• Assist with other labour tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in carpentry (framing, foundation work, flooring, and window installation).


• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.


• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a variety of environments.


• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.


• Leadership and teamwork skills are an asset—we encourage candidates with supervisory experience or the ability to take initiative on job sites.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
