Job summary

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in British Columbia is seeking a motivated Rental Shop Supervisor to oversee daily ski and snowboard rental operations, lead staff, ensure equipment quality, and deliver outstanding guest service.

You will train team members on fitting and safety, manage opening/closing, handle cash, monitor inventory, collaborate with ski school and guest services, and uphold health and safety standards in a fast-paced resort environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in ski/snowboard rental operations or related retail/service industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Solid knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, fitting techniques, and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Cash handling and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise rental shop staff to ensure efficient and friendly guest service.
• Train new team members on equipment fitting, safety standards, and customer service procedures.
• Oversee daily shop operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy.
• Ensure all rental equipment is properly maintained, safe, and ready for use.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or place orders as needed.
• Resolve guest concerns and handle escalated service issues professionally.
• Enforce health, safety, and resort policies within the rental shop.
• Assist in scheduling, performance evaluation, and motivating team members.

Job description

Position Summary:We are looking for a motivated and experienced Rental Shop Supervisor tooversee daily operations of our ski and snowboard rental shop. This role isresponsible for supervising staff, ensuring smooth workflow, maintainingequipment quality, and delivering outstanding guest service.

Pay for this position is $24-$27 per hour.

Major Duties& Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate rental shop staffto ensure efficient and friendly guest service.
• Train new team members on equipment fitting,safety standards, and customer service procedures.
• Oversee daily shop operations, includingopening/closing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy.
• Ensure all rental equipment (skis,snowboards, boots, helmets, poles) is properly maintained, safe, and readyfor use.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, placingorders or reporting shortages when needed.
• Resolve guest concerns and handle escalatedservice issues in a professional manner.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, andresort policies within the rental shop.
• Assist in scheduling, performanceevaluation, and motivating team members to achieve service goals.
• Work closely with other resort departments(ski school, lift operations, guest services) to ensure smooth guestexperience.
• Co-operate and accept other assignments as and when required.
