Job summary

The City of Port Moody is seeking a casual Skate Lesson Supervisor to support the large skate lesson program and supervise a team of 50 instructors. You will plan, direct and oversee lessons across year, coordinating evening, weekend, and daytime shifts.

Candidates must be 19+ and have strong communication and organizational skills, with prior supervisory and skating-teaching experience. Employment is contingent on a satisfactory police check.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and one year of supervisory experience in a recreation environment.
  • Experience leading a team in a recreational setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching skating to children, youth and adults.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The City of Port Moody is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to fill the casual position of Skate Lesson Supervisor. This position will assist with the implementation of our large skate lesson program and will supervise a team of 50 casual skate instructors.

The Skate Lesson Supervisor will plan, direct, supervise and support a large team of skate instructors who teach skate lesson programs throughout the year.

Candidates must be a minimum of 19 years old to apply. This is a casual position requiring varied shifts that include evening, weekend and sometimes daytime shifts.

Basic qualifications:

  • Grade 12 and one year of supervisory experience in a recreation environment
  • Experience leading a team in a recreational setting
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching skating to children, youth and adults
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
