Job summary

Starbucks Shift Supervisor position in British Columbia is a frontline leadership role supporting the store manager and guiding partners to deliver the Starbucks Experience. You will deploy partners, delegate tasks, and ensure prompt service, quality beverages, and a clean, welcoming store.

You will model Starbucks guiding principles, lead by example, and help maintain a great place to work while meeting performance standards during each shift.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
• Ability to direct the work of others.
• Effective oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of the retail environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks.
• Maintains a calm demeanor during high volume periods to keep store operations to standard.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating environment and cues.
• Communicates information to manager so the team can respond to create the Third Place environment.
• Assists with new partner training with coaching as needed.
• Provides feedback to store manager on partner performance during shift.
• Creates a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in morale and communicating them.
• Delivers legendary customer service by putting the customer first and connecting with them.
• Executes store operations during scheduled shifts and handles opening/closing duties.
• Follows cash handling and safety policies to ensure partner safety and proper cash management.
