Job summary

Work Authority is seeking a Shift Lead for our Delta, BC location on a temporary six‑month contract with full‑time hours. You will oversee store operations during shifts, coach team members, and ensure outstanding customer experiences while driving sales.

You will greet customers, resolve inquiries, manage opening/closing procedures, assist with inventory, and uphold loss prevention and company policies. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic retail software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers and team members.

We currently have a TEMPORARY SIX MONTH CONTRACT (FULL TIME HOURS) Shift Lead position open at our DELTA, BC location. A Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations and performance of the of the retail store during assigned shifts. The Shift Lead will motivate and guide the store team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, drive sales, and maintain the store visual merchandizing standards. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

How you will make a difference:
  • Lead and inspire a team of retail associates, providing guidance, coaching and support on assigned shifts.
  • Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring smooth store operations during shift.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and act as a role mode for the store team.
  • Ensure all customers are greeted warmly and receive prompt assistance.
  • Deliver legendary service by resolving customer inquiries according to Work Authority’s Values.
  • Achieve sales targets by motivating the team to provide exceptional sales experiences.
  • Train and coach associates on effective sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Ensure the store is clean, always organized and visually appealing.
  • Responsible for the store’s opening and closing procedures.
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise.
  • Provide customers with a hassle-free experience when they need to exchange or return products.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and store operational guidelines.
  • Adhere to loss prevention guidelines to minimize theft and maximize store profitably.
Skills for Success:
  • A minimum of at least 2 years customer service experience
  • Proficiency in using a point-of sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and other retail software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders safely to access elevated areas as needed, and the flexibility to stand for prolonged durations, bend and move with ease to complete job tasks.
  • Candidates should be reliable and flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and weekdays.
