Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking an afternoon weekend shift Resident Support Worker to provide basic needs and guidance in a men’s shelter. You will help residents with intake, goal setting, and daily living, while supporting safety and privacy in a respectful environment.

Responsibilities include admitting residents, documenting incidents, coordinating care with internal teams and external agencies, and performing light housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Experience in frontline social services or housing support preferred.
• Ability to complete documentation accurately and timely.
• Knowledge of privacy standards and confidential information handling.

Responsibilities

• Handle admission, orientation, and evaluation of residents.
• Enforce policies and guide residents in daily living.
• Conduct intake interviews and set basic goals with residents.
• Verify resident identification and monitor safety protocols.
• Coordinate with care teams and external agencies as needed.
• Record medications, tools and gear according to policy.
• Perform light housekeeping and assist residents with linens.
• Address resident concerns and document resolutions.
• Maintain privacy and ensure compliant communications.
• Support program staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide mediation to prevent or resolve conflicts.
• Monitor late passes and non-compliance as required.
• Review policies and suggest improvements.
