Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of automotive dealership service department experience.
  • Leadership experience in a Service Department, with the ability to coach, motivate, counsel, and hold team members accountable.
  • Strong automotive knowledge and the ability to communicate vehicle systems, maintenance requirements, and repair recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage department performance through financial reporting, operational metrics, and sound business decisions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers, employees, and internal dealership partners.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and accountable, with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple demands.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Service Department, with accountability for profitability, productivity, customer retention, and overall performance.
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, training, and performance management for service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Review, interpret, and forecast financial and operational reports to identify opportunities, manage expenses, and improve departmental results.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service by ensuring customers are greeted professionally and that concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Manage escalated customer concerns with professionalism and effective conflict-resolution skills.
  • Explain vehicle systems, maintenance requirements, repairs, and recommendations clearly to customers to build confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty policies, dealership procedures, insurance requirements, and service processes.
  • Foster a positive, accountable department culture focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and changing business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of automotive dealership service department experience, with a strong understanding of service operations, systems, procedures, controls, and profitability.

Previous leadership experience in a Service Department, including the ability to coach, motivate, counsel, and hold team members accountable.

Strong automotive knowledge, including the ability to understand and communicate vehicle systems, maintenance requirements, and repair recommendations.

Demonstrated ability to manage department performance through financial reporting, operational metrics, and sound business decisions.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proven ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers, employees, and internal dealership partners.

Highly organized, dependable, and accountable, with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple demands.

Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.

Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
