The Ian Martin Group is seeking a Senior Wealth Technology Consultant to join our client's wealth technology team in Calgary. Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical experience in wealth management.
• Broad wealth domain knowledge: clearing, settlement, fees, onboarding, planning.
• Experience with enterprise integration, databases (SQL/NoSQL), API patterns, and cloud infra.
• Hands-on familiarity with wealth apps such as Dataphile, PureWealth, iBalance, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; certifications are a plus.

Senior Wealth Technology Consultant

• Pay Rate: $102/hour, depending on experience
• Contract Length: 6 Months
• Location: Calgary, Alberta

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Senior Wealth Technology Consultant to join our clients Wealth technology team. In this role, you will evaluate our technical landscape, provide hands-on support for key in-flight wealth initiatives, and design a scalable roadmap to modernize our platform for future growth. You will bridge complex wealth-management business requirements and enterprise technical architecture.

Responsibilities

• Landscape Assessment & Modernization: Help assess the current application suite, identifying technical debt, integration bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Roadmap & Strategy: Help develop and execute a phased roadmap that supports long-term business growth and operational resiliency.
• Project Delivery & Support: Provide technical leadership and tier-3 application support for active, critical wealth initiatives across front-, middle-, and back-office platforms.
• Vendor & Tool Integration: Manage technical integrations, data flows, and API orchestration between core platforms (trading, portfolio management, clearing, compliance, and wealth planning).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with business analysts, developers, enterprise architects, and business leaders to align technical solutions with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical experience directly supporting the wealth management arm of a bank, brokerage, or financial institution.
• Domain Knowledge: Broad understanding of wealth domain mechanics, including clearing and settlement, fee management, portfolio rebalancing, client onboarding, and financial planning tools.
• Strong background in enterprise application integration, database architecture (SQL/NoSQL), API integration patterns (REST/SOAP/GraphQL), and modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on proficiency or deep technical familiarty with a combination of the following wealth applications is highly desirable: Dataphile, PureWealth, iBalance, d1g1t, Charles River, Conquest, Execlear, Varicent, Fidessa, Fundserv, etc.
• Education and Certifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Commerce, or Business/Finance.
• Nice to have certifications
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Data & Architecture Certifications TOGAF, Core Wealth & Portfolio Platforms: Dataphile, PureWealth, iBalance, d1g1t, Charles River, Execlear, Varicent, Fidessa, and Fundserv, Planning & Integration Tools: Conquest (financial planning) and robust API orchestration/database architecture (SQL/NoSQL, REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
