The Ian Martin Group is seeking an IT SAP Functional Consultant in Burnaby, BC, for a 6-month contract. The role leads full SAP implementations focusing on OM, PA, Payroll, and PCRs within a S/4HANA Private Cloud environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to deliver secure, on-time, and budget-aligned solutions with strong governance and documentation practices.

IT SAP Functional Consultant

• Pay Rate: $95.15/hour, depending on experience
• Contract Length: 6 Months
• Location: Burnaby, British Columbia

Raise is currently hiring an IT SAP Functional Consultant on behalf of our client. They're expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The IT SAP Functional Consultant in this role will provides advanced SAP implementation services, acting as a lead consultant or specialized module expert to support our cllients core business operations and organizational objectives. In this role, you will lead full-cycle SAP implementations, enhancements, and production support initiatives—with a primary emphasis on SAP Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, and Payroll (Schemas and PCRs) within an SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud environment. You will collaborate closely with enterprise stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to deliver secure, high-quality, on-time, and budget-compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Implementation Leadership: Lead end-to-end SAP implementation cycles as a solution architect, integration lead, or subject matter expert—from project preparation through cutover and hypercare go-live support, strictly adhering to project methodologies, governance standards, and policies.
• Module Expertise & Configuration: Drive business requirements analysis, fit-gap analysis, solution design, and system configuration specifically within SAP Organizational Management (OM), Personnel Administration (PA), and SAP Payroll, including complex Payroll Schemas and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs).
• Cross-System Integration: Design, configure, and troubleshoot integrations between SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud and complementary cloud solutions, including Employee Central (EC) integration from the S/4 side and SF EC/S4H hybrid models.
• Delivery & Governance: Manage and execute project deliverables for approved enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure they are completed safely, meet rigorous quality standards, and stay within scope, time, and budget.
• Documentation & Design: Produce comprehensive project documentation, including functional/technical design specifications, data migration artifacts, and operational support manuals in alignment with guidelines and industry best practices.
• Stakeholder Enablement: Provide professional guidance, strategic advice, and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders, technical teams, and business units to ensure long-term operational sustainability.

Qualifications

• A minimum seven (7) years of SAP implementation and support experience, which includes SAP project implementation, enhancement, and production support as well as integrating SAP with other enterprise applications.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Organizational Management and Personnel Administration.
• Strong experience with SAP Payroll Schemas and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs).
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
