Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Professional-level certification in Technical/Solutions Architecture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee, and architect secure solutions across full-stack IT infrastructure.
• Assess security posture for Azure and AWS cloud deployments.
• Design IAM strategies using LDAP, Active Directory, and cloud IAM.
• Synthesize complex concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Produce clear architecture diagrams and roadmaps (Visio).
• Apply ITIL and reference frameworks (TOGAF, eTOM, CoBiT) in service alignment.

IT Cyber Security Solution Architect

• Pay Rate: $91.04 /hour, depending on experience
• Contract Length: 1 year
• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Raise is currently hiring an IT Cyber Security Solution Architect on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The seasoned and strategic IT Cyber Security Solution Architectwill bridge the gap between complex technical infrastructure and strategic business objectives, ensuring that ourclients large-scale technology initiatives are secure, scalable, and resilient.

As a key technical leader, you will design robust security solutions across hybrid environments-spanning traditional data centers, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and OT/IoT landscapes—while fostering collaborative relationships across multiple stakeholder groups in a respectful, mission-driven workplace.

Responsibilities

• Security & Architecture Design: Plan, oversee, and architect secure solutions leveraging full-stack IT infrastructure (applications, databases, Windows/Unix/Linux operating systems, hypervisors, IP and storage networks).
• Cloud & Infrastructure Security: Conduct thorough security posture assessments for applications and infrastructure deployed to public cloud services (Azure and AWS).
• Identity & Access Management (IAM): Architect and guide IAM strategies and technologies, including LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, CA Identity Manager, and AWS IAM.
• Stakeholder & Consensus Management: Navigate complex multi-team environments, negotiate priorities, find consensus, and synthesize intricate technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical business audiences.
• Documentation & Visualization: Produce exceptional long-form documentation, concise PowerPoint presentations, and clear technical drawings (using Visio) to communicate architecture roadmaps to both peers and management.
• Service Management Alignment: Apply working knowledge of IT service management disciplines (ITIL) and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, eTOM, and CoBiT.

Qualifications

• 8 years of work experience as a solution or enterprise architect on large technology projects (or equivalent) with at least 5+ years of experience with large implementation projects that run for a year or longer.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity roles.
• 5+ years in technology leadership roles (team lead, project lead, manager, etc.).
• Experience working in an organization with 5,000 employees or more.
• Experience working on projects with multiple different stakeholders.
• Experience working on technology implementation projects with total budget > 2 million dollars.
• Experience across both Linux/UNIX and Windows.
• Experience with networking technologies.
• Experience with traditional data center infrastructure (compute, storage, etc.).
• Experience with a wide range of security technologies. We are not looking for deep expertise on any specific technology, rather broad experience across many security technologies is better.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with application development teams, technologies, coding, processes, best practices.
• Experience with identity management paradigms and technologies.
• Broad experience with technology applications. Here we are not looking for specific expertise but rather someone who has "been around the block" in large technology organizations.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Asset: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Preferred: Professional-level certification in Technical/Solutions Architecture, SysOps, or Development (Associate-level considered).

Additional Information

• Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
• Every contractor must supply their own "Smart Phone".This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
