Job summary

Raise is recruiting for an Intermediate IT Project Controller to join the Information Services PMO in Calgary. In this contract role, you will partner with project managers across a portfolio of IT initiatives, owning costs, forecasts and financial reporting to support successful project delivery.

You will leverage SAP PS for requisitions and purchase orders, collaborate with buyers and vendors, and adapt to changing priorities while contributing to portfolio analytics and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in project controls, project analysis, or project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day project controls support to project managers, delivery managers, and senior project controllers across IT infrastructure initiatives
• Take ownership of the budgets, forecasts, commitments, and costs for an assigned project area or portfolio
• Monitor actual and forecast costs, assess the financial impact of project changes, and provide clear variance explanations
• Prepare monthly financial reports and project cost and performance analysis
• Create service requisitions and coordinate purchase orders with buyers using SAP Project Systems
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to address purchase order, invoice, billing, and procurement questions
• Support project and portfolio administration, reporting, and close-out activities
• Adapt to changing priorities and provide flexible support across the project controls team

IT Project Controller

• Pay Rate: $47.79 /hour, depending on experience
• Contract Length: 1 Year
• Location: Calgary, Alberta

Raise is hiring an Intermediate IT Project Controller on behalf of our client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil, and power across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

You will join the Information Services PMO as part of a collaborative team of project controllers, supporting project managers across a portfolio of IT projects. This role is ideal for a project controls professional with IT project experience who wants to grow alongside experienced senior controllers. You will support the team across a range of projects, with the opportunity to take ownership of project costs, budgets, and forecasts.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in project controls, project analysis, or project coordination
• Practical experience supporting IT projects is required; exposure to technology infrastructure initiatives such as network upgrades or data‑centre projects is particularly valuable
• Hands‑on experience with project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, financial reporting, commitments, and purchase orders
• SAP experience is strongly preferred, ideally with the Project Systems (PS) module, requisitions, purchase orders, buyer coordination, and vendor management
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with project managers, delivery managers, buyers, vendors, and other project stakeholders
• A positive, collaborative, open‑minded approach, with an eagerness to learn and contribute in a hands‑on support role
• Ability to describe the scale and impact of previous work using specific examples, such as portfolio value, number of projects or project managers supported, scope of responsibility, and measurable outcomes
• Candidates with Project Controls Analyst or Coordinator backgrounds will be considered when they bring relevant IT exposure and strong stakeholder experience; oil and gas or pipeline experience is not required
• Post‑secondary degree in business, finance, IT, or a related field
