Job summary

Maxim Truck & Trailer Inc. seeks a results-driven professional to help evaluate, buy, sell, and manage used trailer inventory while building relationships and identifying market opportunities across the business.

You will support Account Managers, coordinate trade‑ins and appraisals, and oversee wholesale purchases and auctions. The role requires industry knowledge, business sense, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, travel between Maxim branches, and drive resale success with strong

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment or related equipment is an asset.
• Prior leadership or management experience is preferred.
• Experience with equipment appraisals, trade-ins, inventory management, auctions, or resale is an asset.
• Degree or diploma in Business Administration is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Account Managers for updates, creates trade‑in and resale values for Account Managers on physical appraisals, has a pre‑trade inspection completed by the Service Depts and decides if the unit will be retail/wholesale or will go to an auction.
• Oversees and approves retail sales, sells wholesale units, and purchases of all used trailers including surplus Leasing and Rental units.
• Ensures all used trailers are prepped for resale by reviewing trailer appraisal sheet, arranging internal or sublet repairs/service including any safety repairs and following up on work in progress.
• Promotes sale of used trailers and collects market trend information, attending auctions, maintaining relationships with industry contacts, coordinating advertising, and organizing contest promotions for Accounts Managers. Determines which units to sell where and the most cost/time effective way for transporting.
• Provides used trailer sales support for all Account Managers selling used trailer by assisting with conditions, locations, sales contract details, making sales calls with Sales Representatives, sourcing specialized trailers and responding to customer complaints.
• Assists in formulating the annual business plan, budgets, and productivity measures by location/product from information provided by sales force.
• Occasional travel as needed, primarily to other Maxim Branches
