Job summary
RBC is seeking a UNIX-AIX L1 Operations professional to provide 24x7 front line support for RBC's IBM Pseries deployments. You will maintain knowledge of RBC tools, collaborate with teammates, and adapt to an evolving environment while ensuring services meet RBC standards. The role requires 3+ years in AIX/UNIX operational support, strong scripting and automation experience, and familiarity with NAS/SAN storage.
A BA/B.Sc. is preferred.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in AIX/UNIX operational support roles.
- Advanced knowledge of IBM PSERIES hardware and HMC strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of AIX operating systems.
- Experience with Unix Shell Scripting.
- Experience with Ansible automation.
- Proficient in performance monitoring tools (Cacti, Ganglia, Grafana).
- NAS/SAN disk experience.
- Strong computing fundamentals and problem solving.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24x7 front line support for RBC IBM Pseries deployments.
- Manage and support 1500+ AIX installs globally.
- Maintain operational knowledge of RBC tools and standards.
- Collaborate with team in a dynamic, expanding environment.
- Develop skills to support new technologies in the area.
- Analyze and troubleshoot problems to restore service quickly.
- Review changes before implementation to avoid service impact.
- Participate in evaluating new technology via MPLANS.
