Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an experienced IBM i systems engineer in Canada to lead and maintain large JDA MMS environments, with 5+ years in IBMi development and RPG/ILE expertise. You will optimize performance, implement ILE best practices, and ensure 7x24 operations for over 1000 users.

The role requires strong security, DR/BCP planning, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools like VS Code, ARCAD, iNavigator. A bachelor's degree in CS or IT is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS or IT.
• 5+ years IBM i software development with RPG/ILE expertise.
• 3+ years application architecture and MMS JDA experience.
• 3+ years IBM i systems and security administration.
• 3+ years IBM SAN and storage administration experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM i operating system, hardware, and software.
• Experience implementing ILE best practices in large RPG applications.
• Experience supporting large IBM i JDA MMS environments with 7x24 operations and >1000 users.
• Experience using VS Code for IBMi, ARCAD, iNavigator, and ACS.
• Experience with AI development tools on IBMi.
• Experience leading a team of IBMi systems engineers.
• Defining and enforcing IBMi RPG/SQL/database best practices.
• Experience with IBMi DR/BCP including backup recovery, PowerHA and iASP's.
• Experience with performance tools to diagnose RPG/SQL issues.
• Experience with user/application security in large IBMi environment.
