Job summary

CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team in Canada is seeking a Transmission Lines Designer to drive innovation on major projects. You’ll apply your engineering credentials to design overhead lines 5kV–500kV and support feasibility through commissioning, while collaborating with a talented team in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years experience in transmission projects.
• Proficient with design/analysis software (PLSCADD) and CAD systems.
• Experienced with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Clear English communication; French is a plus.
• Experience in scope, schedule and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist management in meeting safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets.
• Resolve technical design and field engineering problems through analysis.
• Contribute to engineering practices by developing standards and guidance.
• Deliver engineering documentation and report progress to standards.
• Design overhead line structures for voltages from 5kV to 500kV.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, and test plans.
• Develop design work packages and manage tasks for existing and new facilities.
• Provide signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record.
• Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews.
• Perform structural design and detailing for Distribution/Transmission structures.
• Apply loads, design criteria, seismic analysis per standards.
