Job summary

Merkle, part of Dentsu, seeks a Manager, SEO & AI Discovery in Chicago to lead SEO strategy across client portfolios. You will own audits, set program direction, translate performance into business outcomes, and guide on-page, content, and AI-enabled discovery work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive SEO experience in agency or multi-stakeholder environment.
• Strong capability across crawl, indexation, rendering, site architecture, and JavaScript SEO.
• Ability to translate analytics into business-relevant recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEO strategy across assigned accounts and connect recommendations to client goals.
• Serve as day-to-day search lead, building trusted client relationships.
• Own complex SEO/AI audits across technical, content, and AI visibility.
• Develop measurement frameworks linking organic visibility to business outcomes.
• Turn data into decisions using GSC, GA4, crawl tools, and rank trackers.
• Create prioritized actionable recommendations for client, content, and engineering teams.
• Lead technical SEO workstreams covering crawl, indexation, rendering, and Core Web Vitals.
• Advance content and AI Search visibility through topical authority and SERP analysis.
• Own delivery quality with scoping, planning, QA, and timelines.
• Mentor junior staff and support account growth through pitches and renewals.
