Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement for a major civil project in Canada. You will collaborate with project teams to define and execute the overall procurement strategy and ensure compliance with Aecon standards.

Lead a team of procurement professionals, manage standard purchasing and major subcontract activities, and support buyout planning while driving continuous improvement across procurement processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement or relevant experience within the infrastructure or construction industry.
• Knowledge of purchasing principles, techniques, practices and ethics.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law, negotiating business agreements, and bidding processes.
• Ability to lead a procurement team and manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project's compliance with Aecon's procurement standards and contract documents.
• Establish and maintain integrated procurement systems and major subcontract procurement processes.
• Lead meetings to communicate project performance to the team.
• Lead Procurement staff handling standard purchasing, service agreements and major subcontracting.
• Support project managers in tracking buyout strategy and maintain information flow.
• Provide input to improve procurement policies and guidelines.
• Analyze and report procurement performance metrics and variance analyses.
• Develop and implement project-specific procurement plans with project controls.
• Support subcontractor claims assessment and negotiations as needed.
• Provide commercial input into project control requirements and proposals.
