Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Junior Procurement Specialist to support the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for projects. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to coordinate purchasing, track deliveries, and maintain procurement records in our ERP system.

Located in Canada, Ontario, with opportunities at multiple sites. The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or related field.
• Post-secondary education in relevant field (SCM, business, procurement, engineering).
• Basic understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes.
• Experience with purchase orders, supplier coordination, or material tracking is a plus.
• Exposure to ERP or procurement systems is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders with accuracy.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and maintain required documentation.
• Support sourcing of materials, equipment, and services for projects.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations to support decisions.
• Communicate with suppliers on pricing, status, availability, and delivery timelines.
• Track material deliveries and expedite orders to meet schedules.
• Work with project teams to understand upcoming procurement needs.
• Assist in resolving PO, delivery, invoice, and supplier issues.
• Maintain procurement records and ERP documentation.
• Support supplier performance tracking, spend analysis and reporting.
• Assist with sourcing initiatives and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with procurement policies.
