Job summary

Aecon Civil leads major infrastructure projects in Canada and abroad. The Construction Manager will direct construction planning, scheduling and procurement for the Arctic Over the Horizon Radar Project, working with clients, unions, and internal teams to ensure safe, cost-effective delivery.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in construction, P.Eng. or CET, strong leadership, and a proven ability to manage traffic, permitting and safety programs while coordinating across disciplines on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant construction experience including managing traffic, permitting and environmental and quality teams.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, traffic, environmental, scheduling and safety requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel to different locations.
• Availability to work on site 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement and workforce allocation to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate project activities with clients, unions and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, labour relations and training requirements.
• Mentor staff, drive inclusion and develop succession plans.
• Oversee permitting, traffic management and design integration with designers and regulators.
