Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Senior Analyst to administer pension plans and provide analytical support for clients and trustees. You’ll manage inquiries, process benefit payments, and maintain data accuracy across medium-sized plans.

You’ll collaborate with the consulting team, train new analysts, and prepare year-end statements, while applying pension provisions and legislative rules to ensure compliant, timely reporting. This role offers flexible work options and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of Defined Benefit pension administration experience (including complex retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown calculations)
• Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration
• Advanced knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation
• Experience reviewing pension calculations and member transactions
• The ability to lead projects, taking ownership and accountability for assigned tasks

Responsibilities

• Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally
• Calculate and process timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review such for simple plans
• Foster strong relationships between clients and the consulting team
• Coordinate information flow between clients and trustees effectively
• Reconcile plan assets and plan memberships with precision
• Train new analysts on systems and procedures to ensure consistency
• Prepare year-end annual pension statements accurately
• Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations conscientiously
• Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements
• Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy
• Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value
• Assist with special projects as required to support team goals
