Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Pension Analyst to join our Retirement Consulting team. You’ll administer pension plans, provide analytical support, and help prepare year-end statements, with Ariel being used for recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Respond to plan inquiries from clients promptly and professionally.
• Assist in calculating and processing timely payment of benefits for simple plans.
• Support the consulting team in maintaining strong client relationships.
• Coordinate information flow between clients and trustees.
• Reconcile plan assets and memberships.
• Prepare year-end pension statements.
• Assist in data preparation for actuarial valuations.
• Apply pension benefit calculations per plan provisions and legislation.
• Ensure data accuracy in pension databases.

The Pension Analyst will work within a team that to provide quality client‑focused administrative services for our Corporate clients. Our Ariel administration system is a robust recordkeeping platform that supports membership database updates, and provides electronic data interfaces, calculations, and transactions.

What You’ll Do

As a Pension Analyst, you’ll play a supportive role in administering pension plans and providing analytical and administration support. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally
• Assist in calculating and processing timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for simple plans
• Support the consulting team in fostering strong relationships with clients
• Help coordinate information flow between clients and trustees
• Assist in reconciling plan assets and plan memberships
• Support the preparation of year‑end annual pension statements
• Assist in preparing membership and asset data for actuarial valuations
• Apply and interpret basic pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements
• Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy
• Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value
• Assist with special projects as required to support team goals

What You Bring

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with:

• A keen interest in pension administration and a desire to learn
• Post‑secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration
• Basic knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation (an asset, but not required)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• A strong client service focus with exceptional professional acumen
• The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with ease
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range

$39,900 - $74,100 CAD Annual

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
