Job summary

FLSmidth is seeking a detail-loving Payroll Specialist to ensure US and Canada colleagues are paid accurately and on time. This role covers monthly payroll processing, data validation, and close collaboration with internal teams and external providers to maintain impeccable payroll records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of US & Canada payroll experience is required.
• Bi-weekly and weekly payroll processing is advantageous.

What you’ll be doing

• Process monthly payroll for US & Canada payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness
• Collaborating with internal teams and external providers to collect, validate and submit payroll data
• Maintain accurate payroll records and support documentation for audits and compliance purposes
• Respond to employee questions related to payroll & payslips in a clear and professional manner
• Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations, including monthly variance analysis and internal reviews
• Monitor legislative changes and coordinate with our external providers to ensure payroll remains compliant with local laws
• Adhere to our team’s KPIs and SLAs
• Pitching in with process improvements – we love people who say “Hey, I think this could be done simpler.”

Education and Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with US & Canada payroll is required
• Bi-weekly & Weekly payroll processing is an advantage
• Exposure to a high transaction volume and multi-task work environment
• Experience in working with global HRIS & Payroll vendor systems, Workday, CloudPay and ADP are an advantage
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written English communication skills required
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to detect inconsistencies in data
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Maintain confidential information when required by legal and ethical standards of professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records.
