Job summary

Dayforce US, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Salaried Payroll Delivery Manager I to lead a team of payroll specialists serving a book of clients. The role focuses on end-to-end payroll, including Canada and US components, year-end processing, and proactive process improvements.

The ideal candidate will manage relationships, ensure SLA adherence, and own day-to-day deliverables with an executive-level mindset. Strong consultative partnerships and a proactive attitude are required.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of payroll knowledge in high-volume payroll operations.
  • End-to-end payroll experience is a plus with strong analytical and technical expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with leadership and internal partner interaction.

About the Opportunity

Dayforce is currently seeking a Full‑Time Salaried Payroll Delivery Manager I to join our Dayforce Managed Team. The role focuses on collaborative leadership of Payroll specialists for an assigned book of clients. We service our clients by supporting the complete employee life cycle including payroll, workforce management, benefits, and contact center, allowing the client to focus on their core business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in effectively managing clients’ relationships, support process sustainability, indirectly managing the payroll specialists and being a strong consultative partner. They will also have an in-depth working knowledge of US/Canadian payroll, year‑end processing, projects management, own day to day deliverables and has an “I own it” attitude with a “Be the Difference” passion to deliver exceptional results.

What you’ll get to do
  • Manage a broad scope of day‑to‑day operations with agility and through continual change.
  • Maintain oversight across multiple internal departmental actions, items and work to resolve within tight time deadlines.
  • Accountable and responsible for overall quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage, leads efforts to continually improve in these areas.
  • Ensure adherence to contract and service level agreements (SLA) compliance by measuring and monitoring quality.
  • Think and act ahead, spot opportunities and act accordingly and proactively contribute to process improvements to effectively increase value.
  • Be a subject matter expert of Dayforce and Client information and make recommendations to internal and external leaders.
  • Track workflow processes, managing tasks and removing bottlenecks to meet timelines.
  • Make recommendations on resource utilization to provide maximum efficiency.
  • Support (existing and new) clients and internal teams throughout various client life cycles.
  • Consistently and successfully assist in project planning and project rollout.
  • Plan and coordinate Operational tasks and readiness for Parallel and Dry Run Testing.
  • Assist in directing Payroll Specialists to the necessary tools, provide coaching and training to the team.
  • Assist in establishing standards and best practices to initiate/create document standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare and present metrics, business reviews, processes, changes and other items to internal and external front line or executives.
  • Create and maintain positive internal/external relationships with various teams and external partners.
  • Provide world‑class customer service in all aspects of the job.
  • Create, enhance, support and promote cross‑functional training and create a network of cross‑functional internal partners.
  • Complex product, payroll and offering knowledge is essential, as it requires specific detailed knowledge and the capabilities to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Communication skills are essential, you must be able to transfer all information to others (clients, leaders, co‑workers) effectively and efficiently.
  • Have an “I own it” attitude about deliverables and projects from start to finish.
  • Approve payrolls while adhering to compliance guidelines before commit.
  • Responsible for year‑round compliance and control efforts.
  • Perform frequent employer level audits to ensure accuracy of payroll and tax setups based on legislative compliance or obtains internal partnership to do so.
  • Manage or perform the quarter and year end process among the payroll team and internal partners to execute payroll requirements on time and accurately.
Skills and Experience we Value
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of payroll knowledge and experience in high volume payroll operation and managing end to end Canada and/or US payroll (Includes Balancing, Quarter End (US), ROE (CA), Tax, Garnishments, Legislation & Year End).
  • End to end payroll experience a plus with strong analytical and technical expertise.
  • Meticulous planning, organizational and resolution skills for payroll operational items at a client level, including positive change management abilities.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with leadership, internal partners and customers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired or equivalent work experience.
  • Enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and optimistic attitude.
  • The ability to be a strong team-player, especially in high‑pressure, fluid situations.
  • The ability to travel intermittently.
  • Routine flexibility in work schedule to support clients and team based on business needs. Candidate should be available to support operational hours of work between 8am‑8pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). Weekends and public holiday work may be required.

Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English‑speaking co‑workers, managers, stakeholders and/or clients, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
