Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Dartmouth, NS, is seeking a Senior Sales Representative to lead the Atlantic industrial account sales team. You will manage scrap metal purchasing within a defined territory and drive business growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.

You will visit industrial suppliers, provide pricing information, and resolve issues, while supporting prospecting efforts to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• College diploma in commerce, sales, marketing or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in recycling, metals or industrial sales is an asset.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong mathematical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing scrap metal to support tonnage and profitability targets.
• Visit industrial suppliers in person to promote new and repeat business opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted contact for suppliers with pricing information, questions and issue resolution.
• Support prospecting to identify new customers and business opportunities.
• Develop a network of market insights and pricing trends.
• Lead profit and loss analysis.
• Understand yard operations to support pricing strategies.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure accurate purchase documentation.
