Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Dartmouth, Canada, is seeking a Senior Sales Representative to lead the Atlantic industrial account sales team. You will manage scrap metal purchasing within a defined territory and drive business growth by nurturing relationships with new and existing customers.

You will visit industrial suppliers, provide pricing information, resolve issues, and support prospecting for new opportunities. Travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in recycling, metals, or industrial sales is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing scrap metal to support tonnage and profitability targets.
• Visiting industrial suppliers in person to promote new and repeat business opportunities.
• Serving as a trusted point of contact for suppliers by providing pricing information, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Supporting prospecting efforts to identify new customers and business opportunities.
• Developing a network of contacts to gather market insights and pricing trends.
• Leading profit and loss analysis.
• Developing knowledge of yard operations to better understand and support pricing strategies.
• Coordinating with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchase transactions.

Job Description

As a Senior Sales Representative, you will lead the Atlantic industrial account sales team in collaboration with head office. You will have the ability to manage the purchasing of scrap metal within a defined territory and support business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.

Qualifications

• You have a College Diploma in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent experience;
• You have a minimum of 5 years experience (experience in recycling, metals, or industrial sales is an asset);
• You have a valid driver's license;
• You have strong mathematical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;
• You have strong skills in analyzing results;
• You have excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• You are able to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and trainings.
