Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is a family-owned global leader in metal recycling, with 125+ sites and 4,000 employees worldwide. The Senior Sales Representative will lead the Atlantic industrial account sales team and manage scrap purchasing within a defined territory to drive growth and build strong customer relationships.

You will visit industrial suppliers, provide pricing information, and support new business opportunities while collaborating with head office.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in recycling, metals, or industrial sales is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing scrap metal to support tonnage and profitability targets.
• Visiting industrial suppliers in person to promote new and repeat business opportunities.
• Serving as a trusted point of contact for suppliers by providing pricing information, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Supporting prospecting efforts to identify new customers and business opportunities.
• Developing a network of contacts to gather market insights and pricing trends.
• Leading profit and loss analysis.
• Developing knowledge of yard operations to better understand and support pricing strategies.
• Coordinating with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchase transactions.
