Qualifications

• 6+ years in Manufacturing Engineering focused on assembly or operations.
• Strong engineering principles and problem solving.
• Experience with lean manufacturing (standard work, kaizen).
• Proficiency in applying mathematical methods to engineering problems.
• Excellent time and project management; able to manage budgets and schedules.
• Strong verbal and written communication to non-engineering stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards; shop environment readiness.
• P.Eng. license from APEGA or eligibility (preferred).
• Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize assembly lines and manufacturing processes, including line layouts, line balancing, takt times, cell design, standard work, and documentation.
• Prepare production setups including BOMs, fabrication parts, consumables, task lists, and subassemblies; manage procurement documentation and ECRs.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines; contribute to safety meetings and investigations; support safety feature implementation.
• Collaborate with safety and structural engineering teams to address risk, guarding, and equipment safety.
• Act as liaison between engineering and production; ensure knowledge transfer and documentation handover to operations.
• Lead project planning and execution for line changes or new installations; coordinate safety, scheduling, and drawing distribution.
• Oversee line layouts, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) related to manufacturing installations; ensure timely reviews and implementation.
• Partner with QC, Production, and EHS to implement standard work procedures and drive quality improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product feasibility, ROI analysis, and scaling improvements.
• Lead major initiatives including factory tests, prototype testing, and pilot runs; document lessons learned.
• Manage procurement, pricing, and documentation accuracy during production; coordinate with planning for time trials.
• Ensure compliance with RFPs and contracting procedures.
• Analyze data to identify performance gaps; monitor KPIs and report to leadership.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and coordination records; communicate across all levels.
