Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer to support Silent-Aire manufacturing projects in Canada. You will design plant layouts, develop SOPs, and lead assembly and plant layout development while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

You will collaborate across engineering and production teams, mentor coordinators, manage ECRs, and coordinate with CI for process improvements, with strict adherence to safety guidelines and Canadian standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• 6+ years in an engineering role with design and/or construction responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards and relevant codes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting welding engineering and manufacturing requirements, including weld process development and QA.

Responsibilities

• Design product assembly lines in collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams.
• Prepare production setups including BOMs, fabrication parts, consumables, task lists, and subassemblies.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with safety and structural engineering teams to design safety restraint systems.
• Lead construction kick-off planning, including safety, scheduling, and drawing distribution.
• Mentor production coordinators and oversee assembly line layouts and process improvements.
• Oversee and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
• Support welding-related manufacturing activities including weld process development, fixture and tooling input, troubleshooting, welding quality improvement, and coordination with Quality Control.
