About the job

Position Summary – Senior Manager: Our TorontoJobs.ca client, is looking for a Senior Manager who will be primarily responsible for assurance and compilation engagements, corporate and personal income tax returns. You will manage engagements, assist the partners in analyzing client needs and providing advice. You will be a mentor to the junior team members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance within a CPA firm with partnership opportunities for the right candidate within 3 years. Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively and independently complete and supervise larger field and office assignments
  • Deliver completed assignments to partner for review on a timely basis
  • Identify, research and resolve accounting, audit and tax issues
  • Manage engagement budget, WIP analysis and billing
  • Lead year-end engagement planning
  • Develop strong relationships with and sense of responsibility to clients
  • Client contact with appropriate level person
  • Review and present financial statements to clients for smaller engagements independently, and along with partner on larger engagements
  • Timely response to client emails and phone calls
Education and Professional Skills and Knowledge
  • University degree and CPA, CA designation with a minimum of 7+ years of experience with a CPA firm (including audit experience) with demonstrated skills in leading and reviewing working paper files
  • Experience with Canadian corporate, personal and trust taxes
  • Well organized with superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Solid communication skills (both verbal and written) with an emphasis on client service
  • Aptitude to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proficient in standard software applications used in CPA firms
