Job summary

Spring Living Retirement Communities is a boutique operator of senior living communities in Ontario and Quebec. The Executive Director leads the Ottawa community, overseeing resident care, programs, environmental coordination and fiscal performance. Reports to Regional Director of Operations.

The role emphasizes safety, strong governance, budget management and strategic occupancy initiatives within a caring, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in the retirement or hospitality industry.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
• Experience in progressively responsible roles with demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, marketing and financial planning skills.
• Graduate of a post secondary certificate/diploma or degree program in nursing, social work, gerontology, hospitality or business.
• Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills.
• Self directed.
• Accountable.
• Effective problem solver.
• Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or residence policy.
• Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
• Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Persons Check required

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, secure environment for all residents and compliance with legislation.
• Oversee operational programs to meet expectations for a successful, profitable residence.
• Ensure provision of meals and adherence to health regulations.
• Develop recruitment and retention programs for all team members.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets and monitor variances.
• Lead marketing and occupancy initiatives with sales leadership.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and incident reporting.
• Plan staff schedules and conduct performance appraisals.
