Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team in Oshawa, Ontario. You will be responsible for the preparation and timely delivery of meals for residents, guests and staff, while ensuring adherence to safety and diet requirements.

Ideal candidates have a Food Handler's Certificate; Red Seal is preferred. Experience in healthcare or retirement settings and ability to work within budget and production schedules are important.

Formación

• Must have a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
• Experience handling large quantities of food, preferably in healthcare or retirement settings.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
• Experience with special/therapeutic diets.
• Physically able to lift and move heavy, hot items and stand for long periods.
• Second language skills are an asset.
• Must provide Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and/or oversee preparation and delivery of all meals for residents, guests and staff.
• Review menus and production sheets; prepare and serve meals attractively.
• Maintain proper food handling techniques and safety.
• Complete daily temperature audits and document findings.
• Prepare meals for therapeutic diets per planned menus.
• Adhere to budgets and production charts; follow standardized recipes.
• Comply with regulations and dietary department policies.
• Participate in special occasion/theme meal planning and staff meetings.
