Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Canada is seeking a Cook to prepare and deliver all foods for residents, guests and employees, with a evening shift schedule Wed–Sun 4:00pm–7:30pm. You will review menus, follow recipes and production sheets, ensure proper food handling, complete daily temperature audits, and support therapeutic diets.

A Food Handler's Certificate is required; Red Seal is preferred; health checks and background screen may be conducted.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably healthcare or retirement.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide.
• Experience with special and therapeutic diets.
• Must be able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand long shifts.
• Second language is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector Check / Criminal Background Check required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or be responsible for preparation/delivery of all foods for residents, guests and employees.
• Review menus and production sheets; prepare and serve meals attractively.
• Ensure proper food handling techniques.
• Complete daily temperature audits for fridges/freezers/storerooms.
• Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic/special diets.
• Adhere to service times and production charts within budget.
• Comply with regulations and department policies; participate in training.
• Support planning for special occasion meals and resident rights, safety and quality programs.
