Cogir Senior Living is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare and deliver meals for residents, guests, and staff in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. You will review menus, follow recipes, and ensure proper food handling while meeting dietary needs.

Reporting to the Culinary Manager, you will perform daily temperature audits, adhere to schedules, and help maintain quality and safety standards in a healthcare setting. A Food Handler's Certificate is required; Red Seal is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in healthcare or retirement setting.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
• Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets.
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and deliver meals for residents, guests and employees.
• Review menus and production sheets before preparing meals and serve them attractively.
• Ensure use of proper food handling techniques and safety.
• Complete daily temperature audits for fridge, freezers and storerooms and record findings.
• Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic/special diets according to planned menus.
• Adhere to daily production charts and recipes within budget.
• Comply with provincial/municipal regulations and dietary department policies.
• Participate in planning/preparing special occasion and theme meals and attend trainings.
• Uphold residents' rights and promote ethics and integrity.
