Job summary

City of Hamilton seeks a Manager, Facilities Operations & Maintenance to lead the corporate facilities program. You will oversee the building envelope, HVAC systems, grounds and custodial services, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations city-wide.

You will manage budgets, supervise supervisors, and drive best practices in facility management while coordinating with real estate services and other divisions. A strong leadership track record and knowledge of codes are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or facility management.
• Significant management experience in a municipal environment.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety acts and regulations.
• Experience managing large contracts and budgets.
• Ability to lead, organize and communicate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for operations and maintenance of City facilities.
• Develop budgets, forecast finances and supervise staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and energy management across facilities.
• Coordinate with real estate, contracts and external vendors.
• Represent the division in labor relations and staffing decisions.
