Reporting to the Director, Energy Management, the Manager, Maintenance Operations provides leadership for the delivery of repair, corrective maintenance, and related building services across the University's campuses, supporting over 100 academic, research, administrative, residential, and leased facilities, as well as associated infrastructure. The role oversees maintenance activities involving building interiors and exteriors, equipment, and mechanical and structural systems, and supports the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to promote safe, reliable, and well-maintained environments for the University community. The role works closely with Facilities Services colleagues and clients to understand service requirements, prioritize resources, and support the effective delivery of maintenance services that are safe, reliable, and cost-effective. The position also oversees maintenance-related compliance activities and supports continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen service delivery, improve asset reliability, enhance productivity, and contribute to the achievement of established service standards. As a subject matter expert, the Manager provides leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders to support effective operations and team performance. The role fosters collaborative working relationships across the University and with external service providers to deliver high-quality service through a lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion. The position is also responsible for maintaining positive labour relations, applying collective agreements, policies, and procedures appropriately, and contributing to the development and implementation of effective budgetary controls.
