Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Edmonton, AB-based team. You will lead planning, design, coordination and delivery of electrical systems for infrastructure and aviation projects from concept to field verification.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, a P.Eng. designation with APEGA, and a proven track record in aviation, infrastructure, or building projects with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation with APEGA in good standing.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience.
• 5+ years designing/managing aviation, infrastructure, or building electrical projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable standards.
• Experience leading design activities and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience using AutoCAD and other electrical design software.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and implementation of systems for infrastructure and aviation projects, ensuring technical compliance and design integrity.
• Prepare and review engineering design documentation, technical specifications, calculations, and project reports.
• Conduct design reviews and technical evaluations to support quality assurance and risk management objectives.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to achieve seamless integration of electrical systems within broader project designs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and engineering guidance to junior engineers and design personnel.
• Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and municipal requirements.
• Participate in stakeholder coordination activities, including client meetings, technical workshops, and project reviews.
• Perform field inspections and construction verification activities to confirm compliance with approved design requirements.
• Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of engineering standards, templates, and technical procedures.
• Support project delivery through schedule development, technical reporting, and resolution of engineering issues.
