Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support residents’ dietary needs and ensure appealing meals in a welcoming environment. You will help with setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals under supervision of the Director or Dietary Manager.

The role emphasizes resident-focused service, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety regulations. Prior food service experience with seniors is preferred; Food Handler's Certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Preference given to candidates with previous experience in food service and seniors care.
• Must be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for long periods.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in set up and preparation for service of beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and departmental procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and department policies.
