Job summary

AgeCare in Ontario (Hamilton region) is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support residents’ dietary needs and ensure meals are served in a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities include serving meals, assisting with set-up, tray delivery, and maintaining dining area cleanliness. The role offers opportunities for training, growth, and a supportive team culture, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Must be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Must be able to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
