Job summary

Extendicare in Canada is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service in our Residence/Home. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services and the Dietary Manager, you will help with setup, serving, and cleanup to ensure a high standard of resident care.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and compliance with health and safety standards. A Food Handler’s Certificate is required; experience with seniors is preferred; training and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Preference given to individuals with previous food service experience and working with seniors.
• Must possess or be enrolled in a Food Service Worker Training program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide or be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
