Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is hiring a dedicated Dietary Assistant to serve meals to residents and guests with professionalism and courtesy in a senior-care setting.

You will assist with setup, tray delivery, table service, and post-service dishwashing while maintaining a clean dining and kitchen environment. Preferred candidates have a Food Handler's Certificate and experience with seniors, with enrollment in a Food Service Worker Training Program being a plus.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills demonstrated.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Preference for experience in food service with seniors.
• Enrollment in Food Service Worker Training Program is required or in progress.
• Second language proficiency is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of items such as beverages, salads and desserts.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme activities.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and safe job procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
